Quick Update

Dear Friends and Family,

The girls are doing well.
Zoey is enjoying her new love - FOOD. She loves rice cereal and mushy veggies. (mmm - baby food!) She's also learning the fine art of eating cherrios and Gerber Puffs!
Kaitlin practices her gymnastics every chance she gets. Her favorite is "the donkey" where two hands are on the floor and one foot is in the air. She also bounces (like the trampoline) and tries to do summersaults. It's very cute!

Brandon is slowly recovering from the recent news of Bronco quarterback Jay Cutler being traded to the Chicago Bears. Although a trade was not what Denver was hoping for, loyal fans are still optimistic for a winning season.

Brandon's work schedule will be changing soon, so I've been mentally preparing myself for that. While he's training his replacement, he'll be working 11am to 9pm. That means I will have a lot of juggling to do (kids, work, lunch, dinner, baths, etc!) for the next couple months. Luckily, the girls and I have a good routine on work days, so everything will be fine ~ just busier.

I'm going to post some updated pictures soon ~ I just have to take them! ;) Maybe we'll find something "bloggable" to do this weekend... we'll see....

Until then,

Monday Madness

This morning I took Zoey in for her two-month doctor visit. She already weighs 11lbs, 0.5 oz! She's very healthy and right on track on all the growth charts. As some of you know, we're still following up on her initial hearing screen. We took her to an audiologist last week, and have another appointment scheduled later this month. So far, the news has been good.

Tonight we did another craft project with Kaitlin: Sun Catchers

We raided Kaitlin's crayon box and took out all the broken crayons. We peeled the crayons and used a vegetable peeler to make crayon shavings. We used the colorful shavings to make a rainbow, a flower, and a multi-colored bullseye. (A low iron setting melts the crayon wax between two sheets of waxed paper.) We even added string so we could hang the sun catchers by the window!

A fun project ~ but probably too much for Kaitlin... she kept wanting to pile all the colors on top of each other. Silly girl!

We're anxious to see how they'll look in the morning when the sun shines in the window! ;)

Quick Update

I just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know we are doing fine. Tired... but fine. Zoey has been waking up several times per night, but goes right back down after she eats. So far, breastfeeding is going extremely well and we're all very happy about that.
Zoey seems to be laid back and mellow. She rarely cries!
Kaitlin is loving her duties as a big sister and often offers too much help. I can tell she's a little frustrated by the change in routine, but overall, she is handling things well.
I had my staples removed on Wednesday, and having Brandon around to help has been wonderful. He's really good at making sure I'm obeying the doctor's orders about lifting things and resting!

Nothin' Yet...

For anyone checking our blog for Peanut Lee updates, please rest assured that there's no news to report.
She seems to be very content in there and has not given me any reason to believe she's planning her arrival anytime soon. :-(

Her official due date is Sept 4th... (but sooner would be better for this uncomfortable, impatient mama!)

In the meantime, please send some labor vibes this way....... after all, it is LABOR day weekend. ;-)
