What a Fun Day!
Who knew you could find so much fun within walking distance?!?!
First, we stopped at the playground:
Then, we kept walking and ended up at the library! I truly believe the library is Kaitlin's favorite hangout.... she would have been happy to stay there all day!
After we convinced Kaitlin to tell the books, "bye-bye" and got her signed her up for the summer reading program, we walked to Sonic for lunch.
After lunch, we walked home so Kaitlin could get a nap in before we took her over to Grandma and Grandpa Nincey's house! They offered to watch Kaitlin while Brandon and I went out for "date night." We didn't have any real plans, but we've been trying to get in some grown-up, kid-free time this summer before Peanut is born.
After a dinner I knew I'd regret, (hot wings and pizza - yikes!) we ended up at Cinema Grill.
It was $2 Tuesday, so I was able to talk Brandon into seeing What Happens In Vegas. He really, really did not want to see the movie, but said afterwards that it was better than he expected. I agree ~ cute movie!

The Beach!
Kaitlin had such a fun time! She loved splashing in the water and playing in the sand. She's still talking about all the fun she had swimming with Daddy!

Michael's TV Interview
Michael really seems to be enjoying his new duties as a police officer. He always has lots of stories to tell and seems very optimistic about everything. He still has a few more weeks in training with his FTO, then he will be on his own.

Daddy ~ The *best* Babysitter
The other day, Brandon was playing with Kaitlin while I was hard at work. They were watching TV, coloring with crayons, and singing nursery rhymes. Then, all of a sudden I realized they had left the room and wondered where they had gone.
I found them in the guest bedroom doing this:
and this:
With Father's Day coming up, I think these videos prove that there's nothing like the love of a daddy. ('Cause everyone knows there's no way Mommy would allow dangerous fun like this! hahaha!)
Brandon, I feel so blessed to have a husband like you
I am so thankful that Kaitlin (& Peanut!) are blessed
with a father as caring, thoughtful, and supportive as you
I want to thank you for always putting our family's interests first
We love you from the bottom of our hearts
We wish you Happy Father's Day
We love you so much!

Lil' Peanut Lee
On Memorial Day weekend I went in to see my friend George for another peek at Peanut. Unfortunately, Peanut was not in the mood to cooperate. She was facing my back throughout the entire ultrasound. No matter how I turned, or what I did, she refused to show her face ~ silly girl!
This first picture is a profile picture. It looks like she is laying on her left side. Can you see her eye, nose and lips?
The next picture is the "best" picture we could get of her face. She doesn't look very happy... but we had been shaking her and trying to get her to move for about a half-hour. I think she looks like an old man in this picture, but my friend George reassured me that she'll be cute when she's born. Hahaha....
I guess Little Peanut Lee is making me wait until the big day to know what she looks like. That's okay, though ~ I think I can be patient. If not, I'll just call George again...

Graduation Week in Review! (Part 2)
After the doctor's appointment, the three of us headed to Colorado Springs for yet another fun-filled day! We went with Grand Pam, Hawkster, Grandma and Grandpa Lux to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. What a FUN zoo! Most notably, we were able to feed the giraffe's! The zoo is nestled right in the mountain and is considered to be the most kid-friendly of all zoo's in the area. Kaitlin definitely had a fantastic time! Although we brought her wagon, I don't think she sat in it once after we entered the gate. She wanted to walk to make sure she didn't miss anything!
After the zoo, we went to Solos Restaurant for another graduation celebration for Kyle. This restaurant could rank as one of the most unique restaurants that I've ever eaten at. It's a fully intact Boeing KC-97 tanker attached to a restaurant. You can sit in either the actual airplane or the restaurant area. The restaurant is completely decorated with aviation history ~ what better setting for a party celebrating someone graduating from the Air Force Academy and heading off to flight school?
We got home late Thursday evening and then went back to Colorado Springs on Friday for a trip to Pike's Peak.
In my 29 years of living in Colorado, that is one place I've never been. We rode with Grand Pam and Hawkster to the top of the mountain. When we reached the top, we indulged in some fried dough - which is basically a donut ~ but much, much better. Grand Pam bought Kaitlin a bag of rocks from the gift shop which quickly became her obsession of the day. After Pike's Peak, we stopped in Manitou Springs for dinner and ice cream.
The whole week was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed spending time with everyone and we are so proud of Kyle's success. It's absolutely amazing how quickly four years passes. It seems like just yesterday we were riding the roller coaster with Kyle at Elitch Gardens before he headed off to the academy. Next, Kyle is off to Mississippi for flight school. Brandon and I will definitely miss having him so close by. I, personally, will miss Kyle exchanging a bottle of Captain Morgan for an overnight stay and access to our washer and dryer. Most recently, Kaitlin has grown very fond of "Unkie Kyle." She was even saying the other day how she was going to ask Unkie Kyle to fix her broken crayon. Kyle, you are welcome to stay with us and do laundry anytime. You even have reprieve from the Captain Morgan fee ~ at least until after the new baby is born... ;)
