Kyle's 15 Seconds of Fame...

We have yet another television star in the family!

Here's a short video clip of Kyle on the 5pm news in Columbus, MS. (For those that don't know, he's currently stationed at the Air Force Base in Columbus for flight school.)

Kyle and another officer helped out with an elementary school project in which the kids from Columbus did a teleconference with another elementary school in Virginia. Since it was their first time connecting, they wanted to show them all about Columbus, MS - which included the Air Force Base. Kyle told the kids all about the Columbus AFB and said the kids seemed in awe of the two guys in uniform. ;-)

(Kyle is the one on the right.)

Monday...

On Monday we took Zoey in for her 2-week doctor visit.
She checked out great! She's up to 8 lbs now and right on track on all the growth charts.
YAY!

After dinner, Brandon made Halloween Spiders with Kaitlin:

And, of course, before bed, Kaitlin made sure she got some snuggles in with Zoey... ♥ ♥

I promise I have taken pictures, and I will post them... I just haven't had time.

Hopefully in the next couple days I'll find a few minutes to get them posted. In the meantime, please keep voting for your favorite Halloween costume. It looks like it's going to be a tight race!!!

Quick Update

I just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know we are doing fine. Tired... but fine. Zoey has been waking up several times per night, but goes right back down after she eats. So far, breastfeeding is going extremely well and we're all very happy about that.
Zoey seems to be laid back and mellow. She rarely cries!
Kaitlin is loving her duties as a big sister and often offers too much help. I can tell she's a little frustrated by the change in routine, but overall, she is handling things well.
I had my staples removed on Wednesday, and having Brandon around to help has been wonderful. He's really good at making sure I'm obeying the doctor's orders about lifting things and resting!

We're Home!

Today we just hung out in the hospital waiting for the final "okay" to go home. I'm healing well, and Zoey is healthy so there was no need for us to stay longer. They said after lil' sweetie turned 48-hours old, we could go!

Here are a couple picures we took this evening before leaving the hospital:

And.... a quick video of Kaitlin singing to Zoey when we got home. Hahaha....

Kaitlin meets Zoey

Here's a cute video of Kaitlin meeting Zoey... ♥

Proudly Introducing.....

Zoey Lee Carnahan

She was born via repeat c-section last night at 8:01pm.
She weighs in at 7 lbs, 7 oz and is 19 inches long.

Both Zoey and I are doing fine. We're looking forward to going home hopefully by Thursday. Here are a couple pictures of our new bundle of joy! We are beside ourselves with happiness. A new little life is such a miracle....

I'll be taking a lot more photos today, so (as you know!)..... STAY TUNED!

Ahhhhh..... Relief!

Any mother who has given birth without an epidural has officially earned my utmost respect and admiration. After enduring about three hours of intense pitocin-induced contractions, I finally gave in and asked for someone to either take my life or give me an epidural. heheh...

But, here I sit in the midst of a contraction updating the blog. Life is good. I love you, Mr. Epidural.

Peanut Lee is on her way... she will be here soon!

Please keep praying for us... progress is slow. We really need Peanut to come out the right way, not sugically!

At The Hospital....

Who would have thought my first entry into the blog would be on the day that Barb goes into Labor. Barb called me at work about 7:30 pm saying the usual thing "I think my water just broke!" So, of course it was followed with me saying "Are you sure?" Barb was at Target getting ready to do some shopping and oops I think I need to head back home. After getting home there was no denying it. I rushed home while Barb called her parents and they made there way back home to grab their bags to come over and stay with Kaitlin.

So here we are at the hospital doing the deal. Barb is doing well and so is the baby. Barb has started experiencing contractions and she couldn't be more excited. ;0) I'm doing what I can but already I feel useless. So wish us luck or put us in your prayers and I will try to keep everyone posted. Oh yeah, also pray that the wireless connection here at the hospital stays strong.

Happy Grandparent's Day - Sept 7th

Kaitlin wishes all of her grandparents a VERY HAPPY Grandparent's Day!

Thank you for all that you do to make Kaitlin feel special!

Passing Time...

I was just passing some time... doing a little internet research on post-dates pregnancies when I came across this:

Pregnancy Questions & Answers:

Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after she finishes college.

Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A: Childbirth.

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.

Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.

Keep sending your wishes for LABOR this way!
(We're all ready to meet you, little Peanut!)
