Nothin' Yet...

For anyone checking our blog for Peanut Lee updates, please rest assured that there's no news to report.
She seems to be very content in there and has not given me any reason to believe she's planning her arrival anytime soon. :-(

Her official due date is Sept 4th... (but sooner would be better for this uncomfortable, impatient mama!)

In the meantime, please send some labor vibes this way....... after all, it is LABOR day weekend. ;-)

Baby's First Haircut

*sob* My baby is growing up too fast!

Today we took Kaitlin to get her very first haircut!

We took her to LOLLILOCKS, a fun child-oriented salon. Instead of sitting in a normal barber chair, she got to sit on a pink elephant! How fun! (We may need to get one of those here at home so she'll sit still while I'm trying to do her hair, hahaha!)

chop, chop...
snip, snip...
trim, trim....

...a little style....
(add pig-tails, a little hair glitter, and some butterflies...)

and wha-la ~

true beauty!

All the baby curls are gone now.. *sob*
But, her hair looks super-cute!
As hard as it is to see her growing up, I'm glad we did it ~ a true milestone, indeed!

The Zoo!

Brandon took me and Kaitlin to the zoo on Sunday! I was hoping the hot weather and the walking would help move things along with Peanut.... but no such luck. blah..

I guess she'll be arriving when SHE is good and ready... not when I am... (just another reminder that some things are out of our control as parents!)

Here are some pictures from our day at the zoo!

Checking out some of the animals!
the elephants...

and her favorite... the "hippo-matafuss"

Kaitlin's first "train" ride!

The Olympics

Kaitlin was totally inspired by Michael Phelps..... so we took her to Beijing, China today to see what she was capable of...

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today!

Impressive, eh?

Just a couple more years and she'll be old enough to join the Chinese gymnastics team... hehehe...

"SURPRISE!"

Apparently everyone knew about this but me...
(but, then, I guess that's the point of a surprise party... hehe
!)

My good friends Lisa and Tara threw a surprise baby shower for me on Sunday!

What a special surprise!

A lot of my good friends were in on the surprise, and of course, so were my parents and Brandon. My parents offered to babysit Kaitlin Sunday afternoon so Brandon and I could get out alone. Brandon insisted that we go to the 12:15 showing of Hancock at the Movie Tavern. While I sat back and enjoyed lunch and the movie, I had no idea what was going on at home!

Just when the movie was over and the credits started to roll, my mom called and asked if we could come home because Kaitlin was sick and the mess needed to be cleaned up. I asked Brandon to get us home quickly because I didn't want the mess to get worse...

Then, I walked in the door...

It took a minute to get over the initial shock and disbelief that something like this could be pulled off without my knowledge! Photobucket

♥ The party was wonderful! ♥

All the decorations were beautiful...

...the food was yummy...

and most importantly, the company was perfect!

Just saying THANK YOU to all my friends and family who made this happen doesn't quite cover it. It's been fun hearing about how it was all put together behind my back. Appearantly the internet is a pretty powerful tool! (I wonder how people planned surprise parties before MySpace, Evite, email and cell phones!)

The party really made me feel special. ♥ I truly have some great friends!

I appreciate everyone who showed up to celebrate our second baby! It was a nice reminder that even though she's second, she's still important.

now.... if she could just come out so we can meet her!!!!

Fun, Fun!

Between prepping for the new baby and handling our usual daily duties, we've been able to squeeze in a little fun, too!

Last Sunday we took Kaitlin to get her two-year portraits taken. Here are a couple of my favorite poses (Brandon and I hopped in for a couple, too!):

On Friday, Brandon took Kaitlin outside to have even more fun with one of her blow-up pools!

Yesterday morning we played with some Play-Doh Kaitlin got for her birthday! (And, yes, she's the one who insisted on wearing three mis-matched hairbows in her hair. Sometimes you have to choose your battles.... hahaha...)

Sunday afternoon I took Kaitlin to the zoo! It was fun mommy-daughter time for sure. Kaitlin had a lot of fun looking at all animals! I think her favorite was the Tropical Discovery house. She spent a lot of time watching the bats in the bat cave, searching for a crocodile and pointing out the "Dory and Nemo" fish.

The Birthday Party

Here are a couple pictures from Kaitlin's birthday party! I wish I could have taken more pictures, but it's really hard to throw a party, chase a toddler, be eight-months pregnant in 100-degree weather and take pictures. (Thankfully, my good friend Tara was able to take some pictures for us!)

Overall, the party was great! The weather cooperated, the food was yummy, and the kids had a lot of fun. I still can't believe my little bean is two years old. ♥

Kaitlin is TWO!

Grab your box of Kleenex and check out the birthday slide show I put together for Kaitlin's birthday.
♥ It's hard to believe it's been TWO years!
