...the rest of the weekend

The baptism wasn't the only fun we had while Daideo and Mimi were here....

Tim and Diane arrived Saturday afternoon after the 50's Sock Hop birthday party. That first night they were here, they got a good dose of the girls. (Notice how Kaitlin is wearing her poodle skirt OVER her pajamas? Silly!!)
And, for sure ~ there's nothing like being serenaded from the top of the toy box!
After the girls were in bed, wii challenged our visitors to Wii Bowling! Wii noticed that they caught on quick and Diane even bowled 6 straight strikes and attained pro status while she was here. Wowza!
Wii really had a fun time at the "bowling alley" and are definitely looking forward to a wii-match.
Monday morning, we walked over to the playground. (This might've been Zoey's first trip down a slide!) Although it looks like Daddy got stuck halfway down, he didn't. wink Pictures, Images and Photos
And get a load of this tongue! SO stinkin' cute!
Later that day, we went to the Downtown Aquarium. As expected, we saw tons of fish ~ (even a tiger!) I was a little disappointed that there were no dolphins or whales, but I guess it's an aquarium, not the ocean. wink Pictures, Images and Photos

Zoey's Baptism

We were honored to have Daideo and Mimi fly out for a long weekend to be part of Zoey's baptism!

Here are a few pictures from the ceremony!

Daideo and Mimi, thank you for your willingness to play the role of Godparent to Zoey! She is a blessed girl indeed.

We ♥ Birthday Parties!

Birthday party #1: 50's Sock Hop

Our little friend Bronwyn turned TWO on Saturday Feb 21st. Her birthday party theme was a 50's Sock Hop. I must say, the party was VERY cute! Tara made poodle skirts for all the little girls and rock 'n' roll t-shirts for all the little boys. You can see the pictures and videos that Tara posted by clicking here.

Kaitlin and all the other little girls had SO much fun dancing!

The birthday party was equiped with it's very own photo booth!

Even little Zoey had a poodle skirt! SO CUTE!
Bronwyn, we hope you had a fantastic birthday ~
we're looking forward to next year's party already! WINK Pictures, Images and Photos

Birthday Party #2: Chuck E. Cheese's
Wednesday night we ditched preschool and headed to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Braden's 3rd birthday! (It's been about a year since we took Kaitlin to Chuck E Cheese the first time.)
We really had a good time... Chuck E Cheese's is a fun place to have a birthday!

She said what?!

(This is how it all went down...)

MOMMY: Kaitlin, please eat your food so you can grow up to be big and strong.

KAITLIN: Yeah, I'll grow to be big ~ jus' like you!

2 hours later...

KAITLIN: Mommy, can I have a snack?

MOMMY: Sure! Would you like some crackers?

KAITLIN: Yes!

15 minutes later...

KAITLIN: Mommy, can I have another snack?

MOMMY: Are you still hungry??

KAITLIN: Yeah, I am.

MOMMY: Okay, here are some more crackers.

15 minutes later...

KAITLIN: Mommy, can I have some more crackers please?

MOMMY: I think you've had enough.

KAITLIN: Why??

MOMMY: If you eat too much, you'll get fat.

KAITLIN: Yeah! I want to grow up and be big and fat ~ jus' like you!

Ah, how I love my little angel... ;)

Our Super-Duper Valentine's Day Pizza Party!

Oh, what a fun time we had tonight!

Brandon is scheduled to work on Saturday nights, so I thought for sure I'd be spending Valentine's evening alone with my two smallest Valentines (K and Z).
Maybe we'd read Valentine's Day stories or do a Valentine's Day craft. Maybe bake some Valentine's Day cupcakes or watch a Valentine's Day movie...

...the possibilities were endless...

But, at the last minute, I called Brandon and asked if we could throw an impromptu Valentine's Day Pizza Party - AT WORK!
(I knew he couldn't turn down pizza!)

The girls and I decided to stop and pick up a large NY style pepperoni pizza from his favorite pizza place ~ Anthony's Pizza, and hand deliver it to his office!
Here are some pictures from our Super-Duper Valentine's Day Pizza Party!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I admit, I like Valentine's Day.

I could do without the commercialism of it all, but I like the idea.

I like celebrating love and I feel so lucky to have so much love around me.

I absolutely love my three Valentines ~ Brandon, Kaitlin and Zoey!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day! Pictures, Images and Photos

A Valentine's Day kiss from Kaitlin!

...and because we all of you... a BONUS video! :)

♥ He Said/ She Said ♥

For Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fun to do a little l♥ve post about me and Brandon. We both filled out the same set of questions separately.
I thought it'd be fun to compare our answers!

Barb's side of the story:

How long have you been married? FIVE years in May!

How long did you date? 3 1/2 years.

How old is your spouse? 31

Who eats more? ME. For sure. I could out eat him ANY day.

Who said "I love you" first? I'm almost sure he did.

Who is taller? He is.

Who is smarter? I am. ;)

Who does the laundry? I do, but sometimes he helps put the stuff away.

Who does the dishes? Like 99.9% of the time, he does. He's faster and better at stuffing everything in the dishwasher.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I sleep on the right.

Who pays the bills? Do you mean who writes the checks or who brings home the bacon? ;-)

Who mows the lawn? Definitely him. I've tried a few times - but our yard is just way too big.

Who cooks dinner? Because of our schedule, our "family dinner" is usually lunch time.... and Brandon does that. But, its always fun when we get a chance to make a meal together!

Who is more stubborn? Probably me. But, I don't think I'm really that stubborn... just spoiled.

Who kissed who first? I think it was probably me kissing him. ;-)

Who asked who out? I don't know ~ there wasn't really an official question.

Who proposed? He did.

Who is more sensitive? He is. Unless I'm pregnant, then anything'll make me cry.

Who has more friends? I'll call it a tie.

Who has more siblings? I do. By one.

Do you watch the same TV shows? Yup, for the most part. We love our DVR.

Can you agree on Pizza toppings? We can agree; who doesn't like pepperoni? But there's other toppings I'd like to have that he would never, ever eat. Like mushrooms, peppers, onions.... oh well.....

Who takes out the trash? We both used to take turns doing it before I got pregnant with Kaitlin - then the doctor said no cleaning out the cat litter box, so he's pretty much been doing the trash ever since. But, I'm okay with that... ;-P

Name a movie that will always remind you of your spouse - How about a song instead? ~ Butterfly by Crazy Town.

Brandon's Side of the Story:

How long have you been married? Almost 5 years (May 14th)

How long did you date? About 3 1/2 years

How old is your spouse? 30

Who eats more? Me, but Barb will disagree

Who said "I love you" first? I did?

Who is taller? Me, 5'10 3/4"

Who is smarter? Barb, by far, she is a "super-genius"

Who does the laundry? Barb, she won't let me touch it unless I'm just doing my own. But, I can help fold and hang.

Who does the dishes? Mostly me.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Barb.

Who pays the bills? Barb, I would be lost without her, but I'm confident I could do it....now!

Who mows the lawn? Me, but Barb has done it twice.....I believe. After both times she vowed never to do it again as long as we are in this house.

Who cooks dinner? It just depends, I use to do it more often but I say on the evenings I'm home it is 50/50.

Who is more stubborn? WOW! That is a tie, but I feel like I win by a slight margin. I think Barb will probably say that I am more stubborn by far.

Who kissed who first? I think it was a mutual decision.

Who asked who out? Never really asked, just kind of got together during a party and hung out ever since.

Who proposed? I did, I was going to ask her during an Avalanche game but was to nervous so I asked before we left for the game. Barb kept saying that I was acting weird so I just had to do it before the game so the game would be a more enjoyable experience. I did call her dad and got his permission.

Who is more sensitive? It just depends on the situation and our opinion of the situation.

Who has more friends? Barb, because she's good at keeping in touch.

Who has more siblings? Barb, two brothers to my one.

Do you watch the same TV shows? Yes and No. We have shows that we both watch and I have the shows that I like to watch although sometimes Barb will kind of follow them. Usually any show Barb watches I watch.

Can you agree on Pizza toppings? Yes. But, Barb would prefer other things on her pizza other than just pepperoni.

Who takes out the trash? Me. Barb has done it in the past, only if I'm getting home extremely late.

Name a movie that will always remind you of your spouse -
Not a movie, but Tom and Lynette on Desperate Housewives reminds me of us to a certain degree.

March for Babies ~ Team Kaleb

This year we have decided to team up with TEAM KALEB again for a 10k walk to benefit March of Dimes ~ March for Babies! On April 25th, our team will walk in honor of our good friend Lisa's nephew who was born on December 1, 2007 ~ 12 weeks early. Little Kaleb has been through a lot, but he has overcome the odds and is a happy, healthy little boy!

Last year was the first time Brandon or I had ever attempted a 10k, and we had a ton of fun! Click here to see the pictures.

Brandon and I have each set our fundraising goals at $50. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause - or join our team, just click below. The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Thank you!

Bowling!

Okay, I admit, our blog has been a little lame lately.

So... I told Brandon this morning that we needed to do something "bloggable."

We decided to take Kaitlin bowling. It's the first time she's been bowling, so we weren't sure what to expect. I'd say she did pretty good ~ she beat me!

(We're not very good ~ don't laugh at our scores!)

This is Kaitlin's first trip down the alley...

Then, we found out why we should use the kid's ramp thingy:

We really had a great time! Here are a few more pictures from our "bloggable" adventure:

(And, look who slept the whole time!)
